Printing is the process of applying a design, logo, image, or text onto fabric using specialised machines and inks. Unlike embroidery, which uses thread, printing creates a flat design that sits on the surface of the garment.
At Fou Tees, we use several professional printing methods, including:
DTF (Direct to Film) – great for full-colour, detailed designs on almost any fabric
Vinyl Printing – perfect for bold text, numbers, and simple graphics
Sublimation – ideal for light-coloured polyester fabrics and photo-quality images
UV Printing – for hard goods like mugs, bottles, and signage (not fabric)
Printing is a fantastic option for t-shirts, event wear, promotional items, kids’ clothing, and more. It’s lightweight, vibrant, and ideal for designs with lots of colour or fine detail.
This depends on the design details, the type of fabric, and the quantity. DTG is perfect for small batches or detailed designs. Our staff will advise you on the best printing method for your design.
Yes, digital printing methods like DTG are ideal for printing high-quality photographs.
Costs depend on the print method, the number of colors, the size of the print, and the quantity of items ordered.
Embroidery is the process of stitching a design, logo, or text directly into fabric using thread. Unlike printing, which lays ink on top of the material, embroidery uses needles and coloured thread to create a textured, high-quality finish that lasts.
It’s perfect for logos on polos, hoodies, jackets, hats, and workwear, and gives a more professional, long-lasting look — especially for businesses, clubs, and uniforms.
If you're after something that looks sharp, wears well, and holds up over time, embroidery is a fantastic option!
Embroidery involves stitching designs with thread, while printing applies ink directly to the fabric or digitally printing transfers which are applied to fabric.
Cotton, polyester, denim, fleece, and certain blends are ideal. Fabrics that are too thin or stretchy may not hold up well.
Yes, as long as the design is not overly complex. Some designs may need to be simplified for embroidery.
Vector files (such as .AI, .SVG, OR .EPS) are preferred, but high-resolution JPEG or PNG files can also work. We use these to Digitize your logo into an embroidery file.
We do not have a minimum order for embroidery orders though orders are subject to a digitising fee.
Embroidery is very durable and can withstand regular washing and wearing without significant fading or damage.
Turnaround times can range from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the order.
Costs are influenced by the number of stitches, the complexity of the design, and the quantity of items ordered. There is normally a digitizing fee for orders.
Digitizing is the process of changing your logo into stitches so that the embroidery machine can make the design. This is a skilled process and takes some time which is why there is an additional cost for it.
